<p>A composition is provided to show enhanced microbicidal efficacy at a combined active ingredient level lower than that of the individual microbicides and be used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms or higher forms of aquatic life by introducing a microbicidally effective amount of the same composition onto, into, or at a locus subject to microbial attack. A microbicidal composition comprises N-methyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and at least one microbicide selected from the group consisting of butylene glycol and caprylyl glycol. The composition is characterized in that the weight ratio of the N-methyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and butylene glycol is 1:5-1:400, the weight ratio of the N-methyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and caprylyl glycol is 1:25-1:1,500 and it show less than 1 of a synergetic index(SI).</p> |
