<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte solution excelling in battery characteristics, such as electric capacity, cycle characteristics, and storage characteristics, and capable of suppressing generation of gas due to charging, and of keeping the battery performance over a long time, and to provide a lithium secondary battery that uses the solution. <P>SOLUTION: In this nonaqueous electrolyte solution, prepared by dissolving an electrolyte salt in a nonaqueous solvent, the nonaqueous solvent contains 10-40 vol.% of cyclic carbonate and 60-90 vol.% of cyclic carbonate. The nonaqueous electrolyte solution is characterized in that 0.1-5 wt.% of a cyclic dialkyl ether compound represented by general Formula (I) is added in the weight of the nonaqueous electrolyte solution, and this lithium secondary battery uses the solution.
