<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the motion of a moving object so as to trace the moving object even if the moving object enters an area other than an initially registered preset position. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic moving object tracing apparatus 1 comprises: a motion detection unit 11 which detects the motion of a moving object from images time-sequentially obtained from an image input unit 2; a tracing unit 12 which traces the moving object while controlling a universal head of the image input unit in a direction where the moving object moves based on a motion detection result of the motion detection unit 11; an area management unit 13 which performs the new registration of a preset position indicating an area to execute the motion detection by the motion detection unit 11 and tracing by the tracing unit 12 and the management of a registered preset position; and a mobile monitoring unit 14 which monitors a plurality of preset positions set and managed by the area management unit 13 while going round the preset positions, wherein when a position where the moving object is lost in tracing is different from initially set preset positions, such a position is newly additionally registered as an adaptive preset position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
