<p>An apparatus for anchoring in soft tissue generally includes an elongate tensile member (18, 28) adapted to extend within the interior of soft tissue (16) and a first helical anchor (12, 22) configured for insertion within the interior of the soft tissue (16). The first helical anchor (12, 22) extends along a lengthwise axis of rotation (10a, 20a) and includes a proximal coil (12a, 22a) extending around the axis (10a, 20a) and a distal coil portion (12b, 22b) ending in a distal tip (12c, 22c). The proximal coil (12a, 22a) defines an outer diameter adjacent to the distal coil portion (12a, 22a), and the distal tip (12c, 22c) is positioned radially outward of the outer diameter. A drive member (14, 24) is coupled with the first helical anchor (12, 22) such that the drive member (14, 24) may be used to rotate the first helical anchor (12) into the soft tissue (16).</p> |
