Method for the production of commutator component for an alternator or alternator starter motor in which an insulating material is overcast onto two essentially parallel conducting elements and fitted with a connection ring with a first annular part destined to be in contact with one of the conducting elements and a second annular part destined to be in contact with the other conducting element, is characterized in that at least one part of at least one of the conducting elements has an insulating material protective layer on which the overcasting is realized.
