An electromagnetic clutch is provided to restrain the generation of an oil film on a surface of a disc for increasing the coefficient of friction between the friction surfaces of the clutch pulley and the disc, thereby minimizing the loss of power transmitted from the engine to a compressor via the pulley. Further, damping performance of the friction element is improved, reducing noise generation in the case of attaching/detaching of the clutch. An electromagnetic clutch includes a friction element(7') positioned between friction surfaces of a pulley(1) and a disc contacting each other and formed with a slippage-preventing concave and convex part on an outer peripheral surface of the disc in the circumference direction of the disc. The friction surface of the disc is preferably formed with groove parts into which convex portions of the slippage-preventing concave and convex part.
