A camera module and an assembling method thereof are provided to prevent the defective ratio generated by foreign materials in combining a housing and a lens barrel, by placing the lens barrel on the upside of the housing instead of inserting the lens barrel into the housing. A camera module(100) is composed of a lens barrel(130) comprising plural lenses(132) stacked at the inside and a support unit(131) extended at the lower part along the circumferential surface; a housing(120) having a groove(122) on the upper surface, wherein the lower end of the lens barrel is contacted and supported to the upper part of the housing; and a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(110) closely contacted and joined to the lower part of the housing and equipped with an image sensor(111) in the center of the upside.
