PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil filter which allows easy and reliable assembly thereof. SOLUTION: The oil filter 1 is equipped with a base 4, a cap 5 detachably attached to the base 4 and forming a filter case 2 in cooperation with the base 4, a cylindrical filter element 3 accommodated inside the filter case 2, and an inner cylinder 31 arranged inside the filter element 3 and mounted in the cap 5. An engaging member 5a extending toward the inside of the filter case 2 is formed in a head part of the cap 5. One end in an axial direction of the inner cylinder 31 is fitted to the outside of the engaging member 5a to be detachably attached thereto. The inner cylinder 31 contains stoppers 65, 71 for preventing the fall thereof through the abutment of the tips of the stoppers on the inside surface of the filter case 2 between the head part of the cap 5 and the filter element 3.
