PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering damper device not requiring any complicated control and capable of suppressing only the operation of a steering shaft caused by disturbance without impairing the operation of the steering shaft by a rider on a two-wheeler. SOLUTION: In the steering damper device 1 which is interposed between a steering shaft 2 of a two-wheeler A and a frame 3 for turnably supporting the steering shaft 2 and provided with a damper D for giving the damping force to the turn of the steering shaft 2, the direction of the moment applied to the steering shaft 2 is detected; the damping force of the damper D to the turn of the steering shaft in the same direction as the direction of the detected moment is set to be small; and the damping force of the damper D to the turn of the steering shaft in the direction opposite to the direction of the detected moment is set to be large.
