摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that discharge efficiency is decreased because mutual interference is caused by the fluctuation of a channel plate and a nozzle plate, when high-density arrangement is performed by a head for a piezoelectric element to a diaphragm. SOLUTION: This liquid discharge head comprises the diaphragm 2 which forms a wall surface of a pressure liquid chamber 6 communicating with a nozzle 4 for ejecting a droplet, and the piezoelectric element 12 which pressurizes a liquid in the pressure liquid chamber 6 via the diaphragm 2. The diaphragm 2 is provided with a connecting portion 11 which is joined to the piezoelectric element 12. The connecting portion 11 comprises a first layer 11A on the side of the diaphragm 2, and a second layer 11B on the side of the piezoelectric element 12. The first layer 11A is formed in such a shape that its width in the short-side direction (y-direction) of the pressure liquid chamber is narrower than that of the pressure liquid chamber 6, and continuously formed throughout the pressure liquid chamber 6 in the longitudinal direction (x-direction) of the pressure liquid chamber. The second layer 11B is formed in such a shape that the longitudinal (x-direction) length of the pressure liquid chamber is shorter than that of the first layer 11A, and that the short-side-direction (y-direction) width of the pressure liquid chamber is equal to that of the first layer 11A.
