PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and method, and program, capable of assisting smooth progress of a meeting. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a storing means for storing image data, a projection means for projecting image data that are stored in the storing means, a photographing means which picks up image data and stores them in the storing means, an invalidating means which invalidates projection by the projecting means when the photographing means images a projection surface by the projecting means, and a compositing means which composites the image data projected by the projecting means with that taken by the photographing means and stores them in the storing means.
