PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matte coated paper for printing, which improves the unsuitability of rubbed stains that are the inherent problem of the matte coated paper, does not have a problem for migrating printed inks to non-printed portions in a book-binding process and after the process, and is excellent in printing operability. SOLUTION: This matte coated paper for printing, prepared by disposing a pigment coating layer containing a pigment and an adhesive as main components on a base paper, is characterized by containing calcium carbonate coated with a surface-treating agent in the pigment coating layer. Preferably, the surface-treating agent is used in such an amount as giving a film thickness of≥2% of the average particle diameter of the calcium carbonate before the surface treatment. The surface-treating agent is preferably at least one selected from petroleum waxes and petroleum resins. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
