A refrigerating device for a refrigerator vehicle is provided to charge a battery using a power generator, which generates power through a driving force of an engine, without directly connecting the engine with the compressor, and to drive a compressor by using energy of the battery. A refrigerating device for a refrigerator vehicle includes a vehicle engine(11), a power generator(13), a refrigerator battery(41), a DC motor, and a refrigerating cycle device. The power generator is driven by the vehicle engine. The refrigerator battery stores power generated from the power generator. The DC motor is driven by using the power of the refrigerator battery. The refrigerating cycle device includes a compressor driven by the DC motor. A power switch is installed such that a driver operates the refrigerating device. A clutch mechanically connects/releases the DC motor to/from the compressor. The refrigerator battery supplies power through a path in which electricity is applied to the clutch and a path in which the DC motor is driven through a relay. The clutch is electrically connected to the relay, so that the DC motor is coupled to the compressor if electricity is applied to the clutch. The relay electrically connects the DC motor to the refrigerator battery, so that the compressor is driven by the DC motor. |
