PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit device comprising a pipelined A/D conversion circuit which achieves accuracy improvement, power consumption reduction and area reduction. SOLUTION: The semiconductor integrated circuit device includes the pipelined A/D conversion circuit including a plurality of stages connected in series. Each of the plurality of stages, excepting for a final stage, converts its input signal into a digital signal of small bits by a sub A/D converter. D/A conversion is performed on a digital output signal of the sub A/D converter by a sub D/A converter, a difference signal from the input signal is generated by a subtractor and amplified by a sample/hold amplifier to form an analog signal to be transported to the next stage. The final stage includes a sample/hold circuit for fetching an output signal of the sample/hold amplifier on the preceding stage, a comparator for comparing the output signal of the sample/hold circuit with a reference voltage, and a latch circuit for holding an output signal of the comparator.
