PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the proliferation of Escherichia coli C strain is specifically controlled or the Escherichia coli C strain is detected among samples comprising various species of Escherichia coli present therein. SOLUTION: A cHisG (pentamer G protein) is obtained by adding a histidine tag to a spike G protein derived from bacteriophageΦX174. The pentamer is formed and thereby bound to the Escherichia coli C strain. As a result, the cHisG can be used for controlling the proliferation of the Escherichia coli C strain or detecting the Escherichia coli C strain. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
