摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely determine misfire of a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine with an output shaft connected to a post-stage via a torsion element. <P>SOLUTION: Whether a resonance cycle based on the torsion of a damper 28 is in a region equivalent to one rotation of an engine 22 (the primary region of rotation) or in a region equivalent to two rotations (the 0.5th region of rotation) is determined (S130). When the resonance cycle is in the 0.5th region of the rotation, the misfire is determined by a determination value JT (0.5) of the 360&deg; sum of a duration difference TD30 (S150, S160), and when it is in the primary region of the rotation, the misfire is determined by a determination value JT(1) of the 360&deg; difference of the duration difference TDS 30 (S170, 180).
