PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive which is excellent in the dispersibility of stains and in compatibility with other additives, has a constant Ca ion-catching ability, can act not only as a dispersing agent but also as a chelating agent, and is optimal for the use of body detergents. SOLUTION: This additive for body detergents is characterized by comprising a carboxylic acid-based polymer mainly having constituent units originated from an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (salt) monomer, wherein the weight-average molecular weight of the carboxylic acid-based polymer is 500 to 3,000.
