<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display driven by the driving voltage of one liquid crystal without providing a complicated driving method and driving circuit, and to provide electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display 1A wherein a transmission region A and a reflection region B are disposed in parallel with each other has a first substrate 101, a second substrate 102 and a liquid crystal layer 103 disposed between the first substrate 101 and the second substrate 102. At least a counter electrode 120, an interlayer insulating films 122 and 123 and a pixel electrode 125 which generate a fringe field for driving liquid crystal molecules are formed on the second substrate 102 and the interlayer insulating films 122 and 123 formed on the second substrate 102 have values of at least one parameter for the interlayer insulating films different between the transmission region side interlayer insulating film 122 and the reflection region side interlayer insulating film 123 so that the driving voltages in the transmission region A and the reflection region B are made nearly equal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
