PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of photographing an image irrespective of the right or left hand. SOLUTION: The camera comprises a body section 10a including: a housing that has a first side face 10R and a second side face 10L opposite to the first side face 10R; a first shutter 11 located closer to the first side face 10R than the second side face 10L of the housing and used to generate a first photographing signal S1 by depressing; a signal input part 16 that inputs a second photographing signal S2; a signal receiving part 13 that receives a third photographing signal S3; and an image capturing part 17 that aquires an image of a subject in response to the first, second and third photographing signals S1, S2 and S3, respectively. The camera also comprises a remote controller section 20a, which is removably connected to the second side face 10L, including: a second shutter 21; a signal output part 22 that outputs the second photographing signal S2 when the second shutter 21 is depressed while kept connected to the body section 10a; and a signal transmitting part 23 that transmits the third photographing signal S3, as a radio signal, when the second shutter 21 is depressed while kept detached from the body section 10a.
