PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote device operation system, in which a user inexperienced in operation of a remote device to easily operate the remote device. SOLUTION: When a mail with an operation instruction content to an operation target device is transmitted from a portable terminal 1 of a user to a server 3, a keyword contained in text data in the mail text is extracted (24), and the extracted keyword is analyzed. When the keyword is consequently sufficient to operate the remote device, a command is issued, and when it is not sufficient, data having a missing keyword as a choice is transmitted to the portable terminal (26-39).
