<p>PURPOSE:To avoid uneven winding of tape and noise generated by scowing, by providing on the surface of the tape a guide plate having a bias force exerted in the direction in contact with the tape and detaching the guide plate from the tape at play and record times. CONSTITUTION:In the tape cassette 10, a pair of the guide plates 16, 17 are provided on the upper and lower surface of the tape 15, and the bias force is given to the guide plates 16, 17 in the direction in contact with the tape 15, for example, by means of the bias means having the tension coil spring 20. Further, when the uneven end surface of tape is emphasized for avoidance such as REV, the guide plates 16, 17 are contacted on the tape 15 to run with the tape restricted. On the other hand, when scowing is desired to be avoided such as PLAY mode, the guide plates 16, 17 are detached from the tape with the detaching means 24 such as the cam lever 26, enabling free tape running. Thus, the uneven winding of tape and generation of scowing noise can be prevented.</p> |
