PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence or white copying due to erroneous setting of an original upside down on an ADF. CONSTITUTION:When continuous copying is executed by means of the ADF, a main CPU supplies a paper feeding signal to the ADF through a scanner. For the first page of the original, when the original is set at an original reading position on a contact glass 9, a scanner 8 is started to perform press scanning, the original is read in and a white picture element level is detected. At this time, the counted data of an image is compared with a user setting level when the white picture element level is set by a user, or the counted data is compared with a default value when the white picture element level is not set by the user. When the counted value is larger, the operation is continued as a normal copying. When the counted value is smaller, it is judged that the user sets the original upside down on the ADF, and an alarm display such as 'Original is inversed' is displayed on an operation part (in this case, binary-coded data are counted as multi-valued data). Also the copying operation is stopped at this time. |
