摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement control mechanism of an object in contact with a liquid crystal capable of moving the object in contact with the liquid crystal in a desired direction regardless of the size and the nature of the object utilizing a liquid crystal flow. SOLUTION: The movement control mechanism includes: a liquid crystal holding means having the liquid crystal LC disposed between a pair of opposed surfaces; a liquid crystal molecule rotating means for rotating liquid crystal molecules m of the liquid crystal LC held by the liquid crystal holding means; and a restricting means for restricting a rotational direction of the liquid crystal molecules m. The liquid crystal molecule rotating means rotates the liquid crystal molecules m in the plane crossing the pair of opposed surfaces. The restricting means restricts the liquid crystal molecules m so as to be twisted around an axis crossing the pair of opposed surfaces of the liquid crystal holding means and to be rotated only in one direction. A plurality of restricted regions in which the liquid crystal molecules are restricted by a plurality of restricting means are formed between the pair of opposed surfaces of the liquid crystal holding means and the object is disposed in the liquid crystal LC positioned in a non-restricted region different from the restricted region so as to come in contact with the liquid crystal LC.
