PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a coating method by a die coater which obtains a coating film which contains a sufficiently less amount of foreign substances by establishing the initialization method of a noncontact-type die front end in the die coater. SOLUTION: The coating method by the die coater makes a scraping means, which comprises a blade or block formed by drying and solidifying a coating liquid, contact the front end of a die to drain a liquid (initialization) at the front end of the die.
