<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rewritable article operating system which reduces a production cost of a rewritable article comprising an information storage means and rewritable paper, shortens a production lead time, and enables printing or erasing to rewritable paper under optimal printing conditions or erasing conditions. <P>SOLUTION: When an ID is read out from the RFID tag T of a rewritable article N by means of an RFID reader 4 of a maker device 9 and the ID thus read out is uploaded to a server 2 from the maker device 9, the paper characteristics of the rewritable paper identified by the ID are registered with the database 2A of the server 2. When the ID is read out from the RFID tag of the rewritable article N by means of an RFID reader 6 of a user device 3 and the user device 3 inquires of the server 2 the paper characteristics of the rewritable paper with the ID thus read out, the paper characteristics of the rewritable paper identified with the ID are downloaded from the server 2, and the setting of printing conditions or erasing conditions of a thermal printer 8 is changed according to the paper characteristics thus downloaded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
