PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base mounting structure for supporting covering materials etc. of a building which is improved in contact area and contact state between a washer of a driving anchor and an overlapping portion around a slot formed at a base, to thereby positively fix the base to a substrate wall. SOLUTION: The base mounting structure functions to mount the base for supporting the covering materials etc. of the building on the substrate wall of the building by the driving anchor having a major axis and a minor axis in an axial cross section. In the structure, the base has slots formed thereat and a rising projection formed near the slots. Further the driving anchor is provided with a slender washer having a longer dimension in a direction orthogonal to the major axis, and the driving anchor is driven into the substrate wall of the building so that the major axis thereof is orthogonal to a longer diameter of the slot.
