The device (2) is an auxiliary device arranged behind the radiator grill inside the engine compartment of a motor vehicle and has at least one textile strip (4) bounded by two opposite edges (6,8), whereby at least one of the two edges can be moved along the radiator grill so that the textile strip can open and close the at least one opening in the radiator grill. An independent claim is also included for a radiator grill.
