PEDOMETER DEVICE AND PEDOMETER MEASURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for more precisely counting the number of steps without being influenced by the walking speed of a walker. SOLUTION: The forward/backward acceleration is detected by a forward/backward acceleration detection part 12 and the upward/downward acceleration is detected by an upward/downward acceleration detection part 14 of an acceleration meter 10 attached to the waist of a user. The acceleration during a specific period when a specific walking motion is performed is multiplied by the measured acceleration in a ROM 26 and a CPU 24, and the number of times of appearance of the maximal value is counted from the result of the product during the specific period.
