A dry distillation furnace is provided for utilizing waste tires as a heat source to save operational cost of the furnace and to prevent air pollution caused by the gases. A dry distillation furnace(5) has a hopper(2) to feed waste tires, a screw to convey the waste tires for thermally decomposing the tires with heat generated by combustion devices and steam generated by a steam generator(8), a chiller(20) to cool gas and steam generated by the thermal decomposition process, a storage tank to store liquid condensed by the chiller while other by-products such as carbon and metals are collected separately, the combustion devices(10) composed of oil burners(11) and gas burners(12) arranged in the longitudinal direction outside of the furnace, and a pipeline(30) for supplying recycled gas to the gas burners.
