A honeycomb shock absorber unit or assembly is formed from a honeycomb panel (402). In one embodiment, the shock absorber unit includes a cylindrical member (409) formed of a folded or rolled honeycomb panel (402), and a flange (406) formed by bonding the opposing ends of the honeycomb panel (402) seamed together. In a shock absorbing system, the flange of the honeycomb shock absorber unit can be connected to another structure (Fig. 4C). |
