<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein chain destruction is caused in a wide range in an inverter circuit including a shunt resistor since a low-voltage-side drive circuit having a short-circuiting current detection circuit is broken although overvoltage is applied to the control power supply terminal of a high-voltage-side drive circuit and that of the low-voltage-side drive circuit when the bootstrap diode of an intelligent power module peripheral circuit is short-circuited and damaged, and a short-circuiting current flows with power supply potential and GND potential. <P>SOLUTION: Even if the boost strap diodes 103, 104 of the peripheral circuit of an intelligent power module 1 are short-circuited and damaged, a diode 100 for overvoltage protection is inserted onto the line between the bootstrap diodes 103, 104 and the high- and low-voltage-side control power supply terminals 7, 8, thus preventing the overvoltage from being applied, and hence preventing the wide-range chain destruction of the inverter circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
