METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BIO-CHIP SCANNIG USING PHASE CHANGE TYPE

A biochip scanning method and an apparatus therefor are provided to regenerate or record bio-information recorded on a biochip by detecting reflectivity in accordance with a changed phase of a phase change layer located at a lower portion of the bio chip by applying layer to the biochip where a fixed probe is placed. A method for scanning a biochip comprises the steps of: (a) coupling a target probe where nano-particles of a light scattering material or a light blocking material are coated to a fixed probe; (b) applying writing laser to an upper portion of the biochip to induce no phase change in a phase change layer by making a temperature less than the phase change temperature reached to the target probe coupled region and to induce the phase change in the phase change layer by making a temperature more than the phase change temperature reached to a target probe uncoupled region; (c) applying reading laser to the phase change layer to acquire the reflectivity difference; and (d) outputting the reflectivity difference to an A/D converter to obtain a digital image. A biochip scanning apparatus comprises: (a) a biochip(110) consisting of a phase change layer(111) layered on a substrate(117), a fixed probe formed on an upper portion of the phase change layer, and a target probe coupled to the fixed probe and array where nano-particles made of a light scattering material or a light blocking material are coated; a laser scanning unit(120) which applies writing laser to an upper portion of the biochip to change the phase of the phase change layer and then stops the application of the laser to record information regarding the coupling state of the target probe of the biochip by changing the phase of a point where the fixed probe exists; and a regeneration means(140) which applies reading laser to the upper portion of the biochip to read the bio information recorded on the biochip through recognition of reflectivity generated in accordance with the phase change state and output the read information through an outputting means(145).
