<p>A method for controlling a multi air conditioner is provided to alarm the user of connection error of an indoor unit by successively operating a plurality of indoor units one by one, if temperature difference of inlet temperatures of operating indoor unit is lower than a reference value. A method for controlling a multi air conditioner wherein a plurality of indoor units are connected to an outdoor unit, having a plurality of electric expansion valves each corresponding to the indoor unit, and a plurality of refrigerant pipes connected to each electric expansion valve connected to a multi-branch pipe, the method comprises the steps of: recording inlet temperature, outlet temperature of indoor heat exchangers of each indoor unit, and indoor temperature when test working is performed, while recording temperature of an outdoor heat exchanger of the outdoor unit, and outdoor temperature(S2,S3); driving a compressor mounted in the outdoor unit at reference frequency, and performing test working with one of the indoor units(S4,S5); when a predetermined time expires after one of the indoor units is operated, re-recording the inlet temperature and outlet temperature of an indoor heat exchanger of the operating indoor unit, and indoor temperature(S6); if temperature difference between the inlet temperature of the indoor heat exchanger in recording process and re-recording process is lower than a reference value, alarming connection error of the operating indoor unit(S7,S8,S9).</p> |
