A fly reel having a detachable spool and a simplified structure of a drag mechanism is provided to increase precision of the drag control, to improve productivity, and to reduce manufacturing cost. A fly reel includes a frame(1), a shaft(10) fixed to a hub of the frame, a spool(20) rotatably connected to the shaft, and a drag mechanism to adjust rotation speed of the spool. The drag mechanism comprises a drag knob(8); a drag spindle(30) inserted into the outer periphery of the shaft; a brake part for suppressing the rotation of the drag spindle on the shaft; a one-directional bearing(15) rotating only in one direction; and a drag cover(40) to cause the one-directional bearing to rotate engagedly with the spool. Further, the shaft is provided with a flange(10d) to limit the movement of the drag spindle 30 in an axial direction.
