A negative electrode is provided to prevent lithium precipitation even if high-load charge is repeated, and to produce a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent charge and discharge cycle characteristics. A negative electrode(23) for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a conductive substrate(23A); first layers(23a) formed on the conductive substrate; and second layers(23b) formed on the first layers. The first layer contains at least a graphite material as a negative electrode active material. The second layer contains at least a non-graphitizing carbon material as a negative electrode active material. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has a positive electrode(22), the negative electrode, a separator(24), and an electrolyte(25). |
