PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a fixed guide holder 21 for guiding a lower edge 2b of a rotary electric discharge machining pipe electrode 2 in a plan direction, at a location near the lower edge 2b of the pipe electrode 2 without the risk of collision against a workpiece guide 14 for holding a workpiece 3, and to prevent the pipe electrode 2 from rotationally shaking. SOLUTION: The workpiece guide 14 for holding the workpiece 3 positions the workpiece 3 in the plan direction and a side view direction when inclined surfaces 14d, 14e formed on internal walls of the workpiece guide press external edge upper corners 3d of the workpiece 3. Further the workpiece guide 14 has its external step portion 14a prevented from squeezing to the inside of an external shape portion of the workpiece 3, and therefore the fixed guide holder 21 for guiding the lower edge 2b of the pipe electrode 2 in the plan direction is guided near the lower edge 2b.
