The invention relates to a wound metal hose (1) for exhaust systems, in particular of motor vehicles. Said wound hose (1) is produced from at least one profiled metal strip (3) which is wound in the shape of a thread, and the metal strip (3) is profiled such that strip edges (2) of adjacent strip windings (3a, 3b) movably engage into one another. At least one side of the metal strip (3) is provided with a surface which has been specifically modified at the contact faces at which adjacent strip windings (3a, 3b) rest against one another such that the wound hose (1) has a maximum thermal stiffening rate of 100 %. ® KIPO & WIPO 2008
