An ice maker and a refrigerator having the same are provided to increase internal capacity of the refrigerator with the ice maker mounted onto a refrigerator door, and to prevent overflowing of water due to opening and closing of the refrigerator door by covering the edges of a tray. An ice maker(10) comprises a frame, a tray, a cover(20), and a stopper(30). The tray is rotatably mounted onto the frame. The cover having a longitudinal projection(22) therein, prevents overflowing of water by covering the edges of the tray, wherein one side of the cover can be separated from the tray. The rotation of the cover is limited at a predetermined point, when the tray rotates. The stopper is provided to at least one of the frame or the cover to confine the rotation of the cover.
