An ink supplying system for supplying ink (I) to a recording head (20) of a recording apparatus (150). The ink supplying system includes an ink tank (10) for containing ink (I) and an ink supplying unit (50), connected to the ink tank (10) via communication paths, for supplying the ink (I) from the ink tank (10) to the recording head (20). The ink (I) in the ink tank (10) is introduced into the ink supplying unit (50) through at least one of the communication paths, and gas in the ink supplying unit (50) is transported into the ink tank (10) through at least a different one of the communication paths. At least one of the ink tank (10) and the ink supplying unit (50) has storage means for storing information regarding the amount of ink (I) in the ink supplying system. <IMAGE> |
