<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball which is excellent in a hitting feeling, a control performance and a flying performance. <P>SOLUTION: In the multi-piece golf ball provided with a solid core, an intermediate layer and a cover, the intermediate layer and/or the cover are formed of a heated mixture having the melt index of≥1.0 dg/min and containing (a) 100 parts by mass of an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid random copolymer and/or an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid-unsaturated carboxylic ester random copolymer, (b) 5-80 parts by mass of fatty acid whose molecular weight is≥280 or its derivative, and (c) 0.1-10 parts by mass of a specific basic inorganic metal compound capable of neutralizing an acid radical in the components (a) and (b).
