A method for correcting color of an electrophotographic image forming device is provided to prevent the generation of traps by correcting color of an edge area detected from a text and an image included in printing data. A text and an image are separated in printing data(S210). An edge area of each color is detected from the separated text and image(S220). First color correction is performed for the text edge area of each color(S230). Second color correction is performed for the image edge area of each color(S240). The corrected text and the corrected image are combined(S250). Weight is determined by a difference value of each color of each generated combination and the determined weight is reflected on a color value. The first color correction reduces the text edge area of each color when a block color value is included in a first reference range, and emphasizes the text edge area of each color by increasing each color value of the text according to a reference ratio when the block color value is included in a second reference range.
