<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus compatible to A3 size even having line memories corresponding to A4 size, and is capable of high-speed processing. <P>SOLUTION: The front one third of an A3 image data is stored in an image memory, and the rest is stored in a line memory. In a resolution conversion section, the rear one third is stored in the image memory, and the rest is stored in a line memory. In a filter and screen processing section, the middle one third is stored in the image memory, and the rest is stored in line memories.
