IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents an image quality from being deteriorated when an illuminant array is inclined and attached, and to provide an image formation method.

SOLUTION: The illuminant array (line head) has a plurality of illuminant blocks 4 installed in a main scanning direction. Light emitting element arrays 3 each with a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in the main scanning direction are set in a plurality of arrays in the sub-scanning direction in the illuminant block 4. A single lens which is omitted from the illustration and has a minus optical magnification is made corresponding to the illuminant block 4. The lenses are arranged in a plurality of arrays in the sub-scanning direction while shifted in head position of the main scanning direction. The illuminant block is made corresponding to each lens. An inclination to a regular attachment position when the illuminant array is attached to a body is detected. An emission strength of the light emitting element at an end of each illuminant block corresponding to a boundary of adjacent lenses in the main scanning direction is controlled according to the inclination of the illuminant array.
