PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable selection of performance and cost in response to a request of a user when practically using a sheet conveying device of simple and low cost structure with excellent correspondence to kinds of paper sheets, an image reading device and an image forming device. SOLUTION: Paper sheet width direction Y of a conveying belt 82 of a belt conveying means 8A is intermittently structured in the paper sheet width direction Y to be brought in contact with one part of the paper sheet S in the paper sheet width direction Y. The conveying belt 82 and pulleys 83 and 84 of the belt conveying means 8A are arranged corresponding to at least one of three grip rollers 81, namely three grip rollers 81 of a second conveying means 7 are arranged on a rotary driving shaft 81a, and the one conveying belt 82 is arranged opposite to a central grip roller 81 of the three grip rollers 81 at a with nearly equal to that of the central grip roller 81.
