The method involves continuously correcting estimated flow position using test signals, which are fed in a direction of assumed flow axis of a permanent excited synchronous machine (2). Two alternate signals of different frequencies are simultaneously provided as test signals. Two other alternate signals of different frequencies are fed simultaneously in a direction cross section to assumed flow axis of the permanent excited synchronous machine.
