PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjusting tool capable of applying a stable quality of adjusting operation to the brake device of existing elevators in a short time by having a simple structure. SOLUTION: This adjusting tool 1 is used to adjust the setting of a sensor installed to detect the operating state of the brake device fitted to the hoist of elevators. The adjusting tool 1 comprises an extension rod 2, a supporting block 3, and a nut 4. The extension rod 2 is joined to a movable core 13 and extends through a fixed core 14 in the direction that the movable core moves. The supporting block 3 is inserted onto the extension rod 2 projecting from the fixed core 14 and brought into contact with the fixed core. The nut 4 is screwed with the screw formed in the outer periphery of the extension rod 2, and locked to the supporting block 3 in such a state that a brake shoe 12 is pulled apart from a disk (rotor) 11 against the biasing force of a spring 15.
