METHOD OF COATING BELT-LIKE BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of increasing a coating speed and improving throughput by improving wettability of a belt-like body for a battery or a capacitor electrode.

SOLUTION: A method of applying a coating liquid on the front and back surfaces of the metallic foil or plastic made belt-like body for the battery or the capacitor electrode comprises: a step for previously applying a liquid having compatibility with the coating liquid, viscosity lower than that of the coating liquid and surface tension lower than that of the coating liquid on the front and back surfaces of the belt-like body while the belt-like body is made to continuously travel; a step for applying the coating liquid on the belt-like body during the liquid is not completely dried yet; and a step for completely drying the belt-like body while the belt-like body is made to continuously travel, and the coating liquid is uniformly applied on the front and back surfaces of the belt-like body at high speed.
