PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more advanced organic thin film transistor with a more simple configuration, a method of manufacturing the organic thin film transistor, and furthermore electronic instrument using the organic thin film transistor. SOLUTION: The organic thin film transistor is equipped with: a gate electrode; a gate insulating film covering the gate electrode, in which a plurality of concaves are formed; a source electrode and a drain electrode which are arranged in the plurality of concaves; and an organic semiconductor layer which is arranged in a region between the source electrode and the drain electrode, and is connected to the source electrode and the drain electrode.
