PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input/output electric power control device of secondary battery that can perform proper control, even at failure of a sensor. SOLUTION: An input/output electric power control device includes a current sensor 2 for detecting the input/output electric power of a secondary battery 1, a voltage sensor 3 for detecting terminal voltage, a failure detecting portion 5 for detecting the failure of the current sensor 2 or the voltage sensor 3, and an output controller 6, if a failure of sensors has not been detected by the failure detecting portion 5, determine permissible input electric power that can be input to the secondary battery 1 and a permissible output electric power that can be output from the secondary battery 1 as a permissible input/output electric power, based on the input/output current and the terminal voltage of the secondary battery detected by the current sensor 2 and the voltage sensor 3. When a failure of sensors are not detected, determines permissible input/output electric power, based on the detected value of the sensor failure which has not been detected, an electric motor controller 7 for controlling input/output electric power of the secondary battery 1 to not greater than the permissible input/output electric power.
