<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music rest which can be put to practical use even when not used as a music rest. <P>SOLUTION: The music rest 4 comprising a flat plate type music rest body part 7 against which a musical score is set against and a music rest fitting part 8 which is provided to the music rest body part 7 and detachably inserted into a fitting recess 5 of a musical instrument case 1 in a laterally long shape to raise the body part 7 on the musical instrument case 1 is characterized in that a musical instrument insertion hole 9 into which the musical instrument case 1 is inserted is bored in the music rest body part 7. Therefore, when the music rest fitting part 8 is inserted into the fitting recess 5 of the musical instrument case 1 and the music rest body part 7 is raised, the musical score can be set against the raised music rest body part 7.
